Make-up for the eye of your contact lenses
Getting make-up in your eye is annoying no matter what. But it only gets worse when you're also wearing contact lenses. Make-up can stick to the lenses and is difficult to rinse out with your eye's tears.
When you follow these tips closely, your eyes will not only look good, but you will also feel good.
First, put your contact lenses in your eyes before you start applying make-up around your eyes. And always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your contact lenses. This way you avoid transferring oil, cream or lotion to your lenses.
Preferably only use make-up without allergens. Almay and Clinique, for example, have products that are friendly to the eye, but of course there are many other suitable brands available.
Eye shadow based on a cream is less likely to get into your eyes than eye shadow based on powder. However, a cream-based eye shadow may be more irritating when the product gets into your eye. Preferably choose a water-based cream rather than an oil-based cream
If you prefer a powder-based eye shadow, be careful to close your eyes when applying the eye shadow. Remove excess powder with a brush before reopening your eyes.
Never apply eyeliner between your eyelashes and your eye. Only apply the eyeliner to the part of the eyelashes that is far enough away from your eye.
Wash and dry your hands thoroughly when removing make-up around your eyes. Then remove your contact lenses, but make sure they do not bump into the make-up. Finally, apply the product to remove the make-up around your eyes.
Replace the make-up for your eyes regularly, at least every three months. Preferably do not use old make-up for your eyes, because over time bacteria will creep into the product and then end up in your eyes, where they can cause a nasty infection. One way to tell if your make-up is too old is that it smells bad. Also, preferably do not share the make-up with others, because that way you can also transfer bacteria.
